We all know that winter is almost here, but our hearts are warm and sincere, so let's throw away our fears, and celebrate the longest night of the year!
Persian Student Organization (PSO) and Persian Panthers invite you to this year's Yalda Celebration, held in observation of the ancient Iranian tradition. We will have fruits, nuts, and food, read some beautiful Hafez poems, listen to live Persian traditional music, and then dance to the not-so-traditional music until midnight. So, come have some fun and enjoy a great start to the holiday season! If you are new to the area, come meet some new people! If you have not seen some of us for a while, come down and catch up! If none of the above apply to you, come anyway!
We hope to see you all next Saturday night, December 12th, starting at 7:00 PM. The location is the Connan room on the 1st floor of CMU's University Center (if it helps, it is the same room as our last year's Yalda, down the hallway from Wiegand Gym). Summer 2009 Picnic Party PDF Print E-mail
Written by Amirreza
Sunday, 02 August 2009 00:00
  • What: A summer picnic party in the beautiful Schenley Park
  • When: Sunday August 16th, starts around 11am and ends whenever you feel like it
  • Where: Westinghouse Shelter, Schenley Park, West Circuit Drive (close to a pond and the golf course) [map]
  • Attending is FREE. Please just RSVP to info [at] persianpanthers.org by Thursday August 13th, and let us know you are coming so that we can prepare.

Description:

This event is free. Persian Panthers will provide food and drink including burgers and soft drinks. It is always fun to have some variety on the table so if you feel like sharing some yummy food/dessert or drink with your friends We're sure everyone will appreciate it. We also have alcohol permit for the venue so feel free to bring your own drink! (No glass bottles please because of park restrictions)
The open area around the shelter is steep and hilly so games like volleyball/soccer don’t seem to be doable (We’ll bring balls/net in case you decide to play in another area). We can think of other games such as cards, chess, checkers, etc. So be creative, think of a game, and bring your game/idea with you!
